What Is Palliative Care?
Care that starts with the person, not the diagnosis.
Palliative care is specialized medical care focused on relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness.
The goal is to improve quality of life for both the patient and the family.
Our team works alongside your doctors to manage symptoms, navigate hard decisions, and support the whole person, not just the condition.
Any age. Any stage.
Care begins at diagnosis and continues as long as you need it.
Alongside your current care.
Keep your treatments. We coordinate with your team and fill the gaps.
Whole-person focus.
Physical, emotional, and family support, all together.
Who Qualifies?
Is palliative care right for you?
You don’t need to be near the end of life to benefit. If you or someone you love in the Farmington area or San Juan County, NM is living with a serious illness at any stage, you may qualify.
Palliative care is based on need, not prognosis. Our team addresses physical symptoms, emotional wellbeing, and the practical challenges of navigating a serious illness.

Sheala is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and leads Basin’s palliative care program. She’s the provider you and your family will see. She manages symptoms, answers the hard questions, and makes sure your care plan reflects your goals, not just your diagnosis.
Dr. Greenberg oversees every palliative care plan, working alongside Sheala and your existing providers to keep your care coordinated and centered on what matters to you.
Wondering if palliative care is a fit for your family? Call and ask for Sheala’s team — no referral needed to start the conversation.
